Molly Young & Helen
"Helen is an Abyssinian with a facial expression that ranges from “faint distaste” to “diabolical contempt”. Helen is quite small; she was the runt of the litter. I love how she looks like a hieroglyphic of a cat. She is curious and enjoys playing fetch. Her favorite human food is cantaloupe with a dab of cottage cheese. She sleeps on or near my head every night.Unfortunately, Helen’s brain is the size of a pea. I’ve had many cats in my life and I’ve never met a cat as dumb as Helen. It’s unbelievable. She forgets where her food is, gets scared by her own shadow, and runs into windows. But I love her so, so much. She’s my wonderful little dumdum. I doubt she’ll ever love me 1/100th as much as I love her, but I’m fine with that."@magicmollys Molly Young is a contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine.
