Darla Rose Taylor & Chickpea
"I'm 35 weeks pregnant living in Williamsburg in a spacious, sunny duplex that Chickpea, my husband and I are very proud to call home. I adopted Chickpea through Brooklyn Animal Action when she was less than a year old, but she had already had at least one litter of kittens! A plumber working in a projects building in Bed-Stuy found her at 6 months old trapped in a basement (the basement door was padlocked shut) with her litter of kittens she had just given birth to. Only 2 out of the 4 of her kittens had survived their living situation in that basement. I am so happy that the mama Chickpea also survived.Chickpea is a real freak. She jumps on my shoulders when I play the autoharp, drinks our coffee even when we drink it black, and she only drinks water out of pint glasses, so we have to leave pint glasses of water around the apartment instead of water dishes. The two of us have conversations where she replies to me when I speak to her, but first waits until I am done with the question to answer me. We are mutually obsessed with each other; she has to sit on my lap wherever I am in the apartment, and I have a plethora of images up under the #chickpeaforever hashtag. Since both of our worlds are about to undergo a BIG change, I am trying my best to soak up this last month of our lives together where she is my only baby <3" @darlaroseDarla is the HR and Office Manager at@Catbirdnyc and is expecting a baby girl on August.
